Not only did we get Monica coloring on the wall, but a full bowel movement in the toilet. Don't worry, I only took a picture of the wall.
I am very happy Monica is home tomorrow, alone with me we get a chance to just be us, play loud music, and just enjoy the day.
If you think drawing on the wall is bad, don't. Sure I had to scrub, but I would have been doing this years ago. Monica wouldn't color! Not on books, not on paper. She normally would dump the box or crayons, or smell the crayons. That's all. This is PROGRESS!
9:33 PM update.
Today has got to be the best day. I know I said that before, but really. Everyone is starting to notice how interactive Monica is with people. Monica was tickling my feet while I was feeding her, and then cringing and cracking up laughing while my hands were getting ready to tickle back. Monica's mother came to visit, and couldn't believe how she was PLAYING with me. Earlier in the day, Monica was hitting her head on her tablet, so I took it away, and put her in a timeout on the couch. Normally that would have brought a major meltdown. Instead, Monica whinged a little, then went over by her toy box and sat there until I said let's go get the tablet.
It is like Monica finally gets it. She's not anxious that we don't understand her needs. She knows we see, hear, and accept, and we are not just going to give in. We didn't before either, but that would drive her into the meltdown, thinking we just didn't understand. Now she knows.. We get it too honey, the answer is still no.
