Day 10 and Day 11

Day 10 and Day 11

I have been sick with the flu.  Went to the dr yesterday.  It is running its course so the dr gave me anti nausea. Which of course doesn't do much.

Monica, however is doing really well on the NP

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)
1/2 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 pill of Now Brand DHA-500 Fish Oil

The last two days, since I was sick, we have been going to bed near 8:00 pm.  She is getting a good amount of sleep, to say the least.

I can't really tell if anything is really happening or not.  Which I believe is a positive sign.  She hasn't had any meltdowns at home.  And it's been a week that she "hit a teacher" (substitute)

I have been watching her play math games on her tablet.  Numbers games.  All seems very age appropriate for a 1st grader.

I am a 47 year old grandma.  I never do well when I am under the weather. It doesn't help that I am a professional puker.  If I feel sick, I puke.  I don't even have to gag.  Just place the head over the toilet, and blah.  Which of course doesn't help anything, because with the flu, I lose enough fluids.

I have been 100% sober from booze since December 2009.  And I didn't do anything else in my life. I was a professional puker back then too.

I don't know why I am sharing this to Monica's blog.  But I think it is important to validate my views too. Sick for almost a week, I might be babbling gibberish.

Day 7

Day 7

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)
1/2 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 pill of Now Brand DHA-500 Fish Oil

7:57 AM

Monica is such in a good mood this Monday morning.  And we still have 20 minutes to relax before the bus after breakfast.  I think at this point it is hard to deny the mood as long as she is doing what she wants to do.  But even during the first few days, and the week before the protocol, she was cranky in the morning getting ready for school, and eating.

Stimming seems the same, but I never saw that as a downfall.  Managing expectations on the protocol for me is key.  I don't want to change who she is.  I want to lower her frustrations.  I want to help her focus.  I want to avoid meltdowns because she is jumping out of her skin with crossed internal wires.  If the protocol continues to show me her joy, that is why we will stay on it, and the only reason.   Sure would I love for those wires to connect and give her speech, of course.  But that is far from being in the top three expectations.

Day 6

Day 6

11:25 AM

A little late blog for this morning.  We are heading out for dinner with Monica's GREAT Grandpa for his 81st birthday tonight.  I already showered, dressed, make up and breakfast all cleaned up.

It is really hard to tell, if we are seeing any changes. Remember, I am aware I am looking more.

Monica's fuse seems shorter. Especially in the morning after the NP ingredients. She had a total of four bowel movements yesterday, peeing perhaps more than normal.

Her happiness seems more too.  That giggling.  Even today, this morning in bed she pointed outside her bedroom window.  When we came downstairs, she used her IPAD talker to say, SWING. She pointed what she wanted, she told us what she wanted.  We told her it was raining, so no swing.

She also had to wait a little bit while Grandpa cooked the bacon. Normally if she is walking towards the dining room, and I say, "It's not ready yet", she yells and tries to sit down anyway.  Today was the first time she stopped dead in her tracks and turned around and went back to the couch.

8:30 PM

The drive to Chicago was a success, as well as stopping at Sergio's house before Central Gyros.  This was not her first trip there.  It was a long afternoon, since we left at 2:00, and dinner at the restaurant wasn't until 5.  Monica really seems like a patient kid today.  Now, I was also prepared.  Extra food, and snacks.  Toys in the diaper bag that I didn't pull out until 30 min at the restaurant.  Monica is my full time joy but also a job. I am well aligned with her needs.  We feed off each other.    Even just now, she climbed off the the couch next to me, and pointed to the dining room.  She waited until I nodded my head.  Then she turned on the light in the dining room, and is watching her tablet from there. Peeking at her crayons.

Hope to have a easy night to fall asleep. I am wiped out.
