Day 33

Day 33

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)

1 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 Tsp of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil

Monica woke up at 4:00 am this morning, grabbed my phone, and started watching YouTube. lol.   She has done this pre NP as well, so I am not taking that as a sign or anything of restless sleep.  I took her potty, and she went back to bed.

Today is Saturday, and we will be going grocery shopping today.  She seems okay this morning.  Just waking up, playing.

I gave her the protocol in the morning today.  I still think I will wait until AFTER school during the week.

Day 32 Part 2

Day 32

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)

1 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 Tsp of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil

Monica came home in a much better mood, and the progress report said she had a good day. No emails or texts from her teacher. She ate, and now watching Sesame Street on her tablet.

You think she felt better with the teachers wanting her to have a better day? You don't think she understood, if she acted out she wouldn't have gone to recess or gotten her tablet when she got home.

Connection is everything.

She is just like me with heat.  She would rather it be 65 degrees in here.  Instead, it's 68, with the heat on because Grandpa is a baby.  I made sure she had her skort after school when she got home.

I am not going to rush this NP, but I will do my due diligence on it for her.   I am not going to scale back doses to hope for less aggression.  She is autistic. She has mood swings.  She has meltdowns.  Now is the time to connect the puzzle pieces for her.  Her brain is awake.  I will continue to push her to new heights, while making sure she is having FUN!

Day 32

Holy heck!  Yesterday was huge.

Where to start.  She woke up really cranky, I almost called her off school because I knew it would be a rough day for her. But after breakfast and playdoh time, I sent her off

Then she came home. And I got this email.

Monica hit a peer in the face today at music....I will be writing a major..will be in backpack tomorrow and need to be signed and sent back on Monday...she also had to stay back and do work while friends went to recess...she was not happy...when work was finished she thought she got to go to recess...boy she got even more mad when she realized that it was off the schedule for good today!

Can we say shock?  I decided to mirror the teacher.  I read Monica this email, and told her no Samsung Tablet after school.  We had to go grocery shopping, and in route, I made a decision to take her to Hair Cuttery.  Her hair was needing a cut, and who doesn't feel better with a shampoo and head massage?  It's always better with a lighter load on your head!

When we got to Walmart, she was happy, and after we shopped, we almost checked out, but there was a kids bike. She jumped on it, took off?  WHAT?  She never rode a bicycle like that before? I took video. (see below)

And even after we got home.... no tablet.  She was fine. She pointed to my phone once and I said, you hit someone, no phone or tab until tomorrow.  And she accepted that, got her plush mermaids.

We have no choice as parents to help our kiddos work through this. I use to think without NP, we could just do what we did before.   But after yesterday, I get it.  If Monica hits at age 6, without being able to understand consequences, what will happen when she is 13, Five foot 10, and 120 lbs of pure muscle?  We have hope, we have to keep with it.

Day 31

Day 31

And we have full blown awakening. She is angry. She is jumpy.  And guess what.  We will work through it for her healing.  More playdoh time, more sensory time.

It is not easy, I get that.  What's the alternative?  Go back to no hope?  Not this caregiver grandma!

The same goes for what I said weeks ago. She does move out of the anxiety pretty quickly with distraction.  Pre NP, it would take a miracle.  Sometimes even swimming didn't change her mood.

I know I will have to get ready this morning.  She was super jumpy before school, and I have a feeling I might be picking her up.

Day 30

Day 30

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)

1 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 Tsp of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil

4:00 PM Protocol time will stay. What a difference in school and mornings!  She is not as snuggly this morning, but playing  a game on her tablet, and watching Harry the Bunny on Baby First TV.

People who read this later, might wonder what her gains have been in 30 days.  It really doesn't work like that.  Think of it as trying to heal whole body sunburn, only using a qtip of butter a day.  One notices the area that the butter is applied might be better skin before all of the sunburn, but the person is still burnt, and very much uncomfortable in his/her skin

Changing the time of dose, is like applying it before bed, for a better chance for sleep.

Or imagine the minute you apply the butter, the rain, or sheets rub it off. One just doesn't know how much damage there is under the skin, and it is healing, but in places not visible to the eyes.   Easier to focus on distracting her while the NP works behind the scenes.

Day 29 Pictures

Day 29

Day 29

1 Tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (California Olive Ranch with COOC Seal)

1 Tsp of Now Brand Inulin
1 Tsp of Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil

We won't be giving her Day 29 until AFTER school.  I have been told she is hitting staff a lot these days, was the exact quote. Since I see her jumpy on the weekends, when she would normally go to school, we are switching it up.  She gets home at 4:00 pm, and still has 4-5 hours until bedtime.   I can't have her hitting staff.

I did contact the teacher immediately when I saw the note. We both agreed, special needs or not, she needs to be told NO HITTING.  If that means no recess, or games, so be it.  She is not dumb.  She will get it awakening or not.

It is very telling that she is reaching her awakening about a month in.  This is her 4th years in school, and she has not hit teachers before this.

She also has a cough as well, and the weather is 80s and high humidity. She has a tolerance like her grandma, (me) that we prefer 68 degrees and air conditioning.

Monica is already snuggling with me on the couch after her breakfast, and I keep reminding her about being nice to her teachers, soft hands. Soft feet.

We will get past this.  I am sure of it.  I am not lowering her dose.  This is about her healing.

Period.
